Maintaining G1 and V1 ratings, as well as C1 in the new Consumer Standard
We are pleased to announce that following a recent inspection by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH), we have maintained our existing Governance (G1) and Financial Viability (V1) ratings, with the addition of a C1 in the new Consumer Standard – these are the highest available rating in each category.
The inspection team from the RSH observed whg’s Board and Committee meetings, met with customers and spent time with the Executive team and Board Members. They reviewed a range of information, data and supporting documents and scrutinised our finances and governance processes.
This result affirms our commitment to providing safe, high-quality homes and services that deliver good value for money, demonstrating our focus on continuous improvements and doing a great job for customers. As a place-based organisation, we are well connected with our communities and we aim to build sustainable places where people can thrive – with a good quality, affordable homes at the heart of this. Alongside the G1, V1 and C1 ratings, whg demonstrates on-going financial strength with an A2 stable Moody’s rating.
Gary Fulford, Group Chief Executive, said:
“We are delighted with the outcome of the inspection. It reflects the positive strategic direction set our Board and the hard work and commitment of whg colleagues, who continue to put our customers first.
“We know there is more hard work ahead of us in an increasingly challenging operating environment for the sector. We are committed to maintaining this momentum, ensuring we continue to meet the highest standards and deliver lasting value to the communities we serve.”
whg has an ambitious corporate strategy – Our 2030 plan – which was developed with our customers and colleagues and sets out our priorities for the next six years. Last year we invested more than £65m to improve our existing homes and built 545 new homes, driving up standards and helping play our part in building the new homes the country desperately needs.
Our customer satisfaction scores continue to rise and we have a firm foundation to build on and we will continue working with customers to improve our services for them.
