whg showcases sustainability work in new report

whg has showcased its commitment to fostering sustainable homes, neighbourhoods, and communities in its newly published 2023/24 Sustainability Report.

In the past year, whg invested a significant £89.15 million in constructing new homes that are both energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. A quarter of all building stock project spend was dedicated to energy efficiency improvements, contributing to the organisation’s goal of achieving net zero by 2050. This included upgrading insulation, installing energy-efficient heating systems, and incorporating renewable energy sources.

The report also emphasizes whg’s commitment to social value. Initiatives aimed at improving social value are highlighted, such as collaborations with local health services to enhance access for marginalized communities. These efforts are intended to cultivate thriving, resilient communities.

Additionally, whg has ensured that its colleagues are engaged in the sustainability journey. The organization has attained Bronze Carbon Literate Organization status, indicating that its staff are knowledgeable about sustainability and prepared to make a positive impact.
